In order to understand a response given by the I Ching, we must thoroughly investigate its texts in their graphic form and in relation to the lines in the alloted hexagram(s).This significance is transmitted by way of a specific, symbolic language characterized by metaphors with different meanings. The answer's meaning depends on the point of view of the person providing the interpretation. If the point of view is rigid and too personal, the response can be incorrectly interpreted. The broader and more universal our cosmovision, the closer we come to the laws that determine change and thus the more coherent and beneficial will be the interpretation. Our point of view about life and its changes is conditioned by the education we receive and crystallizes as we grow and learn. We need to develop a new cosmovision, less personal and more complete, in order to correctly interpret an answer from the I Ching based on universal laws governing changes and never on our personal expectations and desires. A more advanced interpretation requires a deeper understanding of Chinese thought, the Chinese concept of Time, the five elements and their cycles.
